Up
early once again, great breakfast of fresh croissants and various breads along
with gorgeously fattening butter and home made jams. Fresh fruits, local
yoghurt ad home made museli. Judith with a savoury tooth as always dives into
the cheese and meats. Lashings of coffee and the odd cake. Not bad for a two
star hotel.
Outside its rather
cloudy, but its still warm and the word buzzing around is thunderstorms and
rain. So we add waterproofs to our backpack, but its still shorts, bare legs
and the obligatory sun hat. Weather it gets put on today, who knows.
We start from the
chair lift and climb up towards the waterfall. A never ending hike uphill. For
some it was too much and they turn back fairly early. Judith and l took our
time and took it the ever changing views as we traversed the mountain.
It then starts to
rain. Thank goodness the waterproofs were packed. Not that it lasts for long.

a helicopter is used to transfer rocks, possibly concrete up to the summit of one of the adjoining mountains

Some of the group were settled down for a nap before lunch

wild horses roam unhindered just below the summit at 2000m. You can hear the marmots making their warning call as we go nearby.
As
we settle down for lunch we are disturbed by a weather warning. So up we get
and we have to head back down. Thunder and lightening is no fun in the high mountains.
5 minutes into the decent we bump into Genevieve still on her way up. I volunteer
to take her up to the summit, expecting to catch the group up fairly quickly. Unbeknown
to me, she is well known for her straggling ways.
An hour and a half
later and we managed to get to the bottom. I had the car keys, so Judith and
Linda were waiting quite patiently for us to get down. The rest of the group
had long gone and disappeared into the distance.
Saying that, Guy
and his mate came back to ensure that we got of the mountain ok.
Lots of the ladies needed to get back early as they had booked into the spa for mud baths, massages and other beautifying, calming treatments.
We had our own treatments, we strolled from bar to bar partaking in a glass of wine here and there.
