this past weekend has been a roller coaster of storms followed by calms filled with nato convoys and enjoyable times with friend from France
Awake to a convoy of Nato ships arriving into Holy Loch. Started out seeing a couple of Naval ships and soon saw a line of seven ships.
They stayed in Holy Loch and then departed with a few additions on Monday.
These included an American Cruiser of Frigate a couple of submarines and a total of 13 NATO ships.
In between the mass manoeuvres we had a great time, visiting Potavardie for fish and chips. Great fish and a magnificent drive through the glens.
Also took the time to walk round the old Portavadie, now boarded up and inhabited by a community of bats, along with the odd new build house and a marina with restaurant and rental accommodation.
This place is so unreal. A million pound marina set miles away from anywhere although modern, upmarket, yet virtually empty.
There must be enough visitors, otherwise it would have folded by now. That is unless the backers are wealthy disillusioned investors, with a blinf belief that THEY WILL COME.
Lets hope they do.
Ivan and Carol are heading off to visit friends on the Isle Arran. But they managed to see even more military goings on before they departed, as well as a few superb rainbows and the odd light show
