Back in the UK for a while before heading to France
Gwens favourite fresh fish shop in Whistable |
ten minute later the place is full - fortunateley, we got our order delivered before that happened |
Round to see Joyce in her care home |
Then its to another restaurant. In fact seven days and seven different restaurants. But she loves it.
Out to France for the Burns night and also to rip out the old bathroom and make it fit for purpose. With toilets that work, showers that give you controllable water pressure and temperature in a surrounding that is convivial. Only took me three weeks. To be honest, l still have to finish a few things off. Ran out of caulking, plaster, filler and paint. But it looks good.
Out most nights fortunately.
It was so cold and it took four days for the place to warm up. But the log
burners work really well.
First event was
with the Tosh’s, burns dinner. Excellent as always.
The one that got away |
Arrived back in
the UK yesterday after spending three hours in gale force winds, high seas and
thundering rain waiting to get into Dover port. Fun really.
Then find Gwen
is not too well. One of her legs has swollen up with cellulitous, so we
may be staying here for a little longer. We were expecting to go back to
Innellan on Saturday, but not sure at present.
Birthday next week. The
youthful 65. Get my state pension so l can think of retiring. But first we
start the new build on the 1st March. Hopefully. Depends if we can everything
organised in time.
Gwen in A&E, Her leg has doubled in size, but she still smiles |
Everything seemed to be going well. Managed to get Heather to do more hours and employed a company to look after the rest. So had everything covered.
After tow weeks at home took all the tools up to Innellan and popped over to Bute to celebrate the big 65.
As you can see we were kept
of the hills to the rain and ice, but it was still excellent. Bracing!
Four days and we head back to Dover as Gwen is not getting any better. Doctor comes out and is happy with the progress but gives her an increased strength.
Manage to get more cover and we are heading to see the Doctors next week to see what extra cover we can get her. She is adamant she wants to stay at home and is definite that she doesn't want to stay with us or go into a home. So lets make it possible. Get enough people to keep her safe.
