From south to North and then we head East my Boy

So we get off the Ship in Miami and then pick up our luxurious American car with all the bells and whistles.

In fact, we are not sure if we will fit. They issued us two mandatory pieces of equipment along with the car key.

In fact we were pleasantly surprised. The new fiat 500 is roomy ( for two), with plenty of leg room for someone who is over 6foot, and very nippy. Although not as frugal on the fuel as l would have expected. 42 miles to the gallon. In American terms it’s a marvel of economy. But that’s because theit fuel is so inexpensive, and most of their cars only achieve 18 miles to the gallon.

Headed over to the West and the Gulf of Mexico to see our cruise friends who have only recently moved into the area themselves.

Aligator Alley

As always, they treated us regally , although the martini’s with rather too large. Not that l was complaining. Keep them coming. Which they did.

Had to enlist the odd cat to assist in opening the bottles

Wish we could have spent longer with our friends Phylis and Don, but e had to get back to the East coat to pick up Ellen ho as flying in. But there ill be another time.

Its hoped that they will be able to join us in Scotland in 2017. We may be able to go on another Celebrity cruise together up to St Petersburg. Fingers crossed.

Settled Ellen into her appartment and before we new it, it was time to catch our train and head to New York.

Train arrives at Delray Beach

The cabin has it all, two beds, sink , toilet, table and a seat across from one another

The journey was excellent, although quite slow and rather noisy at times. But it was an experience we would replicate in the future.
We initially headed West, over to Tampa, then East past Orlando onto the coast, then Jacksonville, Savannah, Charleston, Richmond, Washington DC, Baltimore and finally New York. Started at 2pm and arrived the next day around 6pm.
