Progress this last four weeks has been hampered by Judith's accident

Returned to Innellan on the 29th May and headed up to the new build to store our cloths and other bits and bobs. After having glorious sunshine in Dover it was wet and cold in Scotland.
Transferred all our belongings into the hall and decided to store them in the loft. Sent Judith up the ladder, but she slipped.
Then all hell let loose. Two ambulances, plenty of gas and Judith was whipped off to Dunoon hospital. Two hours later after x-rays and more investigations and she was back in the ambulance and ferried over to Inverclyde Hospital.

The following day, they operated on her ankle, nearly three hours under the knife. The leg looked more like a shark attack.

Whilst over in Greenock looking at Judith in the hospital we had the pleasure of a visit from one of the Princess Cruise ships.
She only stayed in for four nights, and then it was time to bring her home.
Made up a bed on the big sofa in the lounge and started my carer bit.

Not the best of patients, but then again who would be with the prospect of being on your back for three months looking at four walls.
Very lucky with our friends and neighbours, they popped round whilst l was at work to keep Judith company, others sent books, whilst others phoned to chat.

Three months ahead of Judith with her leg up.
Had to go back every two weeks to have the plaster off to check the stitches.

Meanwhile, the labourer, Jordan and l cracked on with the build.
The timber on the gable was all over the place , so we spent a day fitting out wedges to make it totally level

The concrete at the rear of the fire had dried out well

The edges were plaster boarded, prior to plastering

Once we had transferred all the plasterboard into open plan room we were able to board the spare bedroom out

We then hired scaffolding to get into the cathedral ceiling

Prior to fitting the plasterboard we fitted the 150mm insulation and then topped it with 25mm. The latter overlapping the trusses and acting as a membrane

I was not happy with the sealing on the chimney. The lad who did it was not that committed. I was correct in my assumption. So l cleaned the joint and made a new seal which l then capped with a cowl to deflect the rain.

Cowl fitted, and very happy with the new seal

Started adding the acoustic insulation as well as fitting metal covers over all the joints where the wires passed through the studs
