getting old, aches and pains
Add caption |
In fact the sniffling nose, high temperature didn’t take hold. It was just aches and pains, stiffness in every joint, ankle Knee hip shoulders, elbows, even the jaw and neck.
Need the oil inside the shoulder |
Was so bad had to revert to a cocktail of Nurofen, Paracetamol and eventually alcohol.
Numb body, but
happy and enjoyable Christmas. Just couldn’t lift a great deal or get down to
shelves at floor level, and Judith had to put my socks on.
No they arent mine |
And they are definateley not my legs |
Had had enough after it
didn’t get better by New Year, so off to doctor in Dunoon.Through the ice, snow and hail.
So what have we here Mr Parker |
Had the best possible treatment from some superb proffessionals.
Took bloods for checking |
They
gave me anti-inflammatory tablets and checked my blood. They felt l had
Fibromyalgia. Had all the symptoms according to the doctor, muscle pain, lack
of sleep due to pain in the body, lack of energy, stiffness and horrendous leg
pain when driving.
Could have reverted BACK to SMOKING-----------
BUT LIFE WAS NOT THAT BAD |
But, they assured
me that it was easily remedied. Just need to see my Dover doctor. TRUST ME I’M
A DOCTOR came to mind
So on Sunday
Morning up early and down to the Ferry, over the water to the mainland. The sea was getting rough, the rain was lashing down and the roads were flooded. Speedlimit on the motorway was down to 50mph.
We kept the sign's comment in mind |
Stop every hour to walk about to stretch my legs |
Roads very wet, but snow on hills, glorious to look at |
After
driving through rain and snow capped mountains we decide to break the journey
at Preston at the Premier Inn. Good dinner , nice pint of bitter and very comfortable bed.
Managed to settle Gwen down , set her alarm clock for seven and took her door key so we could get in. Impressed on her not to touch the locks.
At 7am the next morning, guess what. Door is locked and barred.
Not only was the the lock double locked but she had put the chain on. |
Judith banged on the door, but no answer.
Although the rest of the hotel was woken up by the noise. Yet she still is
convinced she is not deaf.
Eventually managed to get her to the door,
but she couldn’t get the door open.
Ultimately, after another fifteen minutes
managed to get her to listen, then l explained how to get the chain released.
Hay presto, the door opens.
Sort her out; get her
breakfast and a cup of tea, by which time she wants to know what all the fuss is
about. Its then through the midlands traffic on the M6 heading South, with all its road works and accidents.
Eventually get down to Dover after lots of breaks. It was a fast day, so l couldn't take advantage of all that was on offer.
These days you can get all manner of delicacies, pulled pork sandwiches, farmers market treats, Waitrose fresh fruit salad and M&S jumbo prawn sandwiches. Although Gwen managed to take full advantage of the food and drinks on offer. She also had the benefit of not needing to share all the bags of sweets that started the journey with.
Goes without saying that they were all gone by the time we managed to get to Dover.
Up early on Tuesday morning and it was down to see my Doctor. Another examination. and more blood tests.
Yes your breath smells OK.
This time the doctor assures me its not Fibromyalgia....... Not that l knew what that was.
They now say l have PMR polymyalgia rheumatica.
"GOOGLE says"
PMR responds very well to treatment so you should be able to carry on with normal life within a very short time. Your doctor will prescribe you steroids which you will need to take for around two years.
We will wait and see, watch this space.
