May comes and it soon dissapears

I dont know where the time disappears to. It only seems like yesterday that we were still in April. Now we are nearly coming into July and we have not kept up with the diary.

Our friends from Carlisle were up for a few days at the end of May. In fact Alistair departed to go on his Island trip and the Hannon's turned up. The weather had improved dramatically.

Everyone is intent on enjoying themselves as John takes us out for lunch. We started off along the scenic route over the hills and through the valley to Colintraive for a lunch of fresh scallops.
The reception we received at the restaurant was not good, the place was cold, so upped and departed and retraced our steps and headed for Tighnabruaich, on the Kyles of Bute.

Its wasn't bad, staff very friendly and obliging and the service was swift. Cooking, well, not brilliant. We did get our scallops, but they were not as special as l would have hoped.

The views were great and we managed to do a selfie. Still not as good as Chris. But his arms are a foot longer than mine.

Visited the art gallery along the front. An artist was on display and his work was excellent.
Paul Bennett from Glasgow. My type of work. Turneresque.
Modern moody, looks like one of Turner seascapes.

This was not my favourite, but he has a good feel for light and colour

From here we have a slow journey back to Innellan, taking in the views, wildlife and amazing changing colours, due mainly to the ever changing weather.

That evening the QM2 went buy, after a big celebration at Greenock, fireworks, bands, the lot. Unfortunately, by the time it past us it was running at full speed, pitch black and only a few lights on. Bit of a damp squid all and all.

Next day was better.

John and Pat managed to see deer in the garden along with our pheasants that now come round on a regular basis to mop up the leftovers from the bird feeders.
Headed out for an early lunch, had to get there by 11.45, as they were fully booked and had to have us out by 1pm at the latest. Pre ordered their special seafood platter, and we were not disappointed. It was truly excellent.

Pat changed her mind and went for the scallops and black pudding.

Then in the evening we watched the Waverley go by, chugging away, paddles going ten to the dozen. After which one of the large princess cruises went out.

Before we new it, Alistair had returned with his tales of the island trip. We did more fishing, but again not a great deal.

Then we decided that we enjoyed the company, we need an interest and perhaps a small income. So we decided to let a couple of our bedrooms for B&B. Set it up on AirBnB and Holiday Letting part of trip advisor. Thought we better get sorted so that we can get known by 2016 when we would be around a little more. Well!!!!!!!!

Within two days of it going live we had a booking, then another, then another. In fact we had four booking in a week plus three others that we couldn't do. And they all booked dinner.

So hopefully that bodes well for next year. Check ot the web site at
