Walking in Oban
First light Saturday morning in Oban, view from the hotel
Snow on the Hills on one of the Islands. Dont ask me which one! Could be Mull
Small ferry coming into the harbour
The hotel with the Roman Coliseum on the skyline. In fact its McCraigs Tower, a folly built by an ill fated local who died before it was completed. So the Tourist Information says.
First day took us along the front passed a caste (ruins of a castle) and to a beach before heading up to the folly.
Sure this is the small Island of Kerrara.
The sun did come out for a while. But it was seriously cold.
During our walks we never got too far away from the sea
The locals must have too much time on their hands if they can knit little covers for lampposts and breather posts around the town.
Then again it could be that Annette has been there before us!
You may think l took this shot to show the Folly. In fact it was to show the whisky distillery and the restaurant we had our wee lunch in.
