Another trip to the Isle of Bute

Three days away walking on the Isle of Bute, the weather was truly amazing. Sun shining, but not too hot for climbing the hills.

Took the short hop over on the Ferry from Colintraive on the mainland of Argyle. A short five minute ferry journey that cost £20 for the car and two. Not too bad. They have reduced most of the fares to the islands this year. I believe they realised that people wont visit unless the costs become more realistic.

Castle Toward just up the road from us in Innellan as seen from the Isle of Bute.

Head out for a circular walk on the West Island Way encountering baby lambs and the odd Hare trying to avoid us as we head for the remains of St Blanes Chapel.

St Blanes Chapel.

Didn’t visit Mount Stewart this time, but popped in for afternoon tea after finishing our walk. Quite disappointing. The write up was far better than the actual fruit scone with clotted cream and local jam. The cream and jam was tasty, as was the taste of the scone. But it had passed its best. These people miss out due to laziness and complacency.

Scone had a consitency of a rock

Instead of being light and fluffy
