First quarter of 2019. If l can remember that far back.
In January we headed south to our friends Birthday party, but as we were heading all that way we combined a visit to Warner Bros Studio tour of Harry Potter
It was amazing. A real insight into the back stage preparation fort the filming.
Had a great day out. But prefer the magic of Disney in Florida. They actually make it come alive.
Attended a Burns supper with some of our Scottish friends. Wigs were compulsory.
Plenty of food, and the odd wee dram.
As previously mentioned, we headed out of the UK, cruising towards the sunshine. But we had to cross the Atlantic first.
New Orleans, great music and superb atmosphere, although a little sad because our fiends had to leave the ship. He had a heart attack whilst we were visiting.
Fortunately, he was looked after exceedingly well and received a triple bypass and was fit enough to fly home ten days later.
On the way back we also managed to head through another storm |
Get back to the UK and continue with the house build, but we still manage time to get away. Murder mystery in Pitlochry, the odd walk, then an overnight in Stirling, followed by a visit to the castle and the site of the Battle of Bannockburn.1314.
Sterling Castle |
Robert the Bruce |
birthplace of Mary Queen of Scots. Linlithgow Palace was built and added to over two centuries by the Stewart kings, resulting in a superb Renaissance residence.A impressive retreat that was an ideal place for royals to break the journey between Edinburgh Castle and Stirling Castle.
Then its a few nights in Aberdour on the Firth of Forth and a couple of coastal walks, before heading back to get on with some work.Managed to get the steel galvanised and made up. Then within a week managed to get the steel and frame erected. Then we waited for the Larch to be delivered. Because of Brexit there is a shortage of Scottish Larch. Its being snapped up by Europe who are taking advantage of the low value of the pound.
tidy the perimeter in preparation for the fencing and also make up concrete stands for the bins and logs
