Waiting for completion, but all goes array, but that’s nothing unusual

Everything has been completed with the exception of changing the downstairs circuit board. It should have been completed a month back, but unfortunately Kevin, our electrician had an accident which has put his schedule back.
We had paid the fee and submitted all the forms, but the Building Control said it would be better to wait until January, once all the electrics had been completed.
Bit of a pity. Wanted to claim our VAT back.

Then we got thinking, and decided we might as well alter the garden room. Initially we planned to just leave it as an open space, but it makes more sense to secure the room by enclosing it with an insulated wall with a door  and two large double glazed windows. It seemed sensible to include the alterations, which would then enable us to claim the VAT back on the walling materials and the double glazed units.

I completed the flooring with heaps of insulation. Then l fitted ceiling joists, insulated it and boarded in preparation for the plasterer.

Then it stalled. Building control were happy with the amendments, but they wanted it passed by the planners first. The planning department, or more importantly the head of our area was on holiday. So l couldn't crack on with the studding and insulation. C'est la vie.
So l just tided up in preparation. And we will just have to wait.

In fact we couldn't really move on too far, basically because the glaziers had still not got back to me with the quotes.
