Catching up

We are now back in Innellan, but l need to try and catch up with the diary whilst we were in France. Unfortunately, or fortunately, dependent on how you look at it we were to busy enjoying ourselves to keep up with the blog.
So her goes the update, but undoubtedly l have already forgotten half the things we did.

We visited Nonac with Linda, Hilly, Alan, Barry and Val's family and friends. Great night market full of delightful food, fresh bread, good wines, steaks, chicken dishes, snails done in 101 different ways (garlic butter for me) Salads and terrine's, gateaus, puds, ices. Must remember its in early August. Worth visiting again, but you have to get in early for the steak and the cover. Can get rather warm

A few days later it was the St Lauren de Combe moules and frit along with the street market. The weather was appauling. Lightening, rain, thunder and very cold.
Sorry for the comune, they plan for this event all year and then its a washout.

Not quite as bad as this, but it did come down.

On the Sunday it was Film night with the tribe. Good food, a little wine and an enjoyable French film. THE CHORUS. Excellent. English subtitles. Moving true story.

More dinners and the BBQ that was to die for at Val and Barry's. As you would expect, Barry cooked a whole bloody cow for the ten of us. He does it so well, and Val works like a trojan to produce nibbles, starters, salads and  a cart load of puds. What an entertainer.
